Subrat Kumar Behera

Subrat Kumar Behra is a promising contemporary artist known for his figurative, allegorical paintings that evoke deep emotion and narrative. Born in 1988 in Odisha, he completed his B.F.A. in Printmaking from B.K. College of Art and Crafts, Bhubaneswar, and later earned a Post Diploma in Printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda in 2013. Behra has received several prestigious recognitions, including the Gujarat State Lalit Kala Award in both 2012 and 2013, and the National Young Artist Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture in 2010. His work was notably featured in the third edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Forming in the Pupil of an Eye, curated by Sudarshan Shetty in 2016. He has participated in numerous exhibitions across India and abroad, including in Kolkata, Kochi, Mumbai, Goa, and Vadodara. Behra currently lives and practices in Vadodara, continuing to explore symbolic narratives through his art.
