Born in 1968 in Karnataka, Arunkumar H.G. is a sculptor trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University of Baroda. His art explores the language of everyday materials—plastic toys, ceramics, cow dung, hay, and TV monitors—reflecting a neo-pop sensibility. His sculptures often blend playful aesthetics with layered social commentary. While some works appear whimsical and toy-like, they carry powerful, complex messages. In contrast, others may seem simple yet challenge deeper perceptions. In his recent Feed series, Arunkumar reflects on consumer culture, questioning production, consumption, and waste through vibrant, thought-provoking imagery that balances humor with critique.
