Lotus Pond gathers the lotus into a quiet, inhabitable form. Rising from a broad copper vessel, the flowers and leaves unfold at different stages - bud, bloom, and rest - held together by the stillness of water implied. The surface bears an antique patina, allowing light to settle softly across textures that feel weathered, attentive, and lived with. Across the artist’s practice, the lotus returns as a persistent presence, and here it appears grounded and sculptural. Rooted yet unsoiled, the form carries long associations with purity, growth, wisdom, and abundance across Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain traditions. In this work, those meanings are not asserted; they are allowed to gather slowly. The pond becomes a site of pause - where ascent does not deny origin, and where beauty is shaped through patience, balance, and quiet continuity.
