The work is held together by a sweeping, centrifugal gesture that cuts across the surface with force and restraint. Against the luminous field of gold leaf, a dark, arcing form presses forward, its movement registering as both trace and interruption. The gesture remains an action suspended in time. Gold leaf establishes a continuous, reflective ground, absorbing light evenly across the surface. The darker sweep carries the evidence of repetition and pressure, its edges roughened, its interior marked by circling strokes. Motion here is not directional; it curves back into itself. What the work holds is a meeting rather than a merging. The gesture retains its intensity even as it remains inseparable from the ground it moves across. Identity, in this sense, is momentarily articulated - distinct, yet never separate from the continuum that holds it. Merge with the Divine does not propose transcendence. It stays with the act of movement itself, where form presses into presence, meets resistance, and continues - held within a field that exceeds it without cancelling its force.
