Narayanappa Muniyappa is an accomplished contemporary artist known for his dynamic depictions of polo and equine energy. A graduate of the Ken School of Art, Bangalore, he began his professional journey in 1991 and has since held over 30 solo exhibitions, along with numerous group shows across the country.
Narayan’s acclaimed Polo Series captures the raw power and elegance of galloping horses and the intensity of polo matches. Executed in charcoal, with bold expressionist strokes and opaque swabs of colour, his compositions exude movement and drama. The fierce energy in his lines and the fluidity of his forms transport viewers into the heart of a live polo game.
With a refined sense of colour and a masterful grasp of composition, Narayan’s works blend athleticism and art in a striking visual language. His paintings have found a place in prestigious private collections, including those of Jaydev Mody, Vijay Mallya, Cyrus Poonawalla, Avinash Bhosale, Amit Bhosale, and Rajesh Dhingra.
Rooted in rural Karnataka and rising to prominence through talent and vision, Narayanappa Muniyappa continues to celebrate speed, strength, and tradition through his powerful, expressive art.
