Dreams are hallucinations that occur during certain phases of sleep. In Bobur’s artwork the hero is often seen lost in thought alone, in darkness or afloat in this strange world we call reality. Yet these paintings are far from morbid. Rather, his figures are depicted deep in concentration, almost contemplative in their otherness, reminiscent of profiles on frescoes. People usually daydream about the memories of their past, the problems they’re currently grappling with, and how they expect, or don’t expect, their lives to unfold in the future.
