Thankfully we celebrate International Working Women's Day on 8th March due to Klara Zetkin’s social moment for women empowerment in Germany. Zetkin believed socialism was the only movement that 'could truly serve the needs of working-class women' - and that feminism was the preserve of the upper and middle-classes. In 1987, the GDR issued a stamp with her picture.
