Bobur Ismailov is an artist and philosopher, one of the most outstanding representatives of contemporary art in Uzbekistan. Exploring techniques borrowed from theatre – lighting, stage sets, symbols, masks, etc. allowed Ismailov to continuously develop his potential as an artist. ‘The Breakfast of King’ represents two-dimensional decorative visual repetition which creates a repetitive pattern. Repetitive characteristic blues and ochre dominate the background. It can be seen that the intention for the painting was to depict peasant life how it really was – for the royal people.
