The bears and the bees come together to create a narrative that is pitched on the beauty of satirical wit so as to develop parody, caricature and mimicry in his compositions. The peacock’s head is an animated study of a fragmented moment of suggested harmonies in the frame of living and observation of a daily visitor. Amit Ambalal is a master storyteller. His works are born of his astute observations and his love for creatures big and small. He extols the harmony and the choreography of Purusha Prakriti in his evolution of work that goes back to two five years. The beauty of his compositional frames lie in the power of the telling thread of multiple fables belonging to life and the living. The pleasure that Ambalal derives from the fluency and the flow of his moving brush is amply evident in his act of image-making, defined by the felicity and transparency of his understanding of colour and form. His pliant brush doesn’t look for perfection but a fleeting fascination for the swift strokes that speak volumes.
